Csodafőnix Figure Skating Club

Where dreams take wing on the ice

The Csodafőnix Skating Club is a dynamically developing figure skating community operating in Târgu Secuiesc, Romania. Our club brings together nearly 70 athletes across three categories: beginners, recreation, and competitive groups. Our training sessions take place at the Deme László Ice Rink. The development of our athletes is supported by a complex training program, which includes on-ice training, off-ice preparation, and ballet classes. Our goal is to provide every skater with the necessary foundations for technical progress, the development of movement culture, and competitive skating. Csodafőnix is not just a sports club, but also a cohesive community where coaches, athletes, and dedicated volunteer parents work together for the success and experiences of the children. We believe that sports teach perseverance, discipline, and cooperation, while creating lifelong friendships and memories. Csodafőnix - where dreams take wing on the ice.

Our Groups

Beginners

There are currently 15 children training in the beginners group, between the ages of 3 and 7. The goal of our program is to introduce the youngest skaters to the world of figure skating in a playful and safe environment, making them fall in love with this special sport and return to every training session with joy. During the on-ice sessions, we place great emphasis on ensuring that children move confidently and safely on the ice while mastering the basics of skating. Training sessions take place with age-appropriate, varied exercises and games. During off-ice sessions, we focus on general physical development, improving coordination, and strengthening muscles. Ballet classes help develop proper posture, a sense of balance, and the foundations of beautiful, harmonious movement, which are essential for future figure skating development. The primary goal of the beginners group is for children to gain positive experiences, build confidence, and happily take their first steps on the ice. Recreation

The recreation group is divided into two levels: beginner recreation and advanced recreation groups. Skaters who have already mastered the basics and want to gain deeper knowledge in figure skating train in these groups. During on-ice training, children gradually expand their technical repertoire, learning new elements and more complex movements. Their progress is regularly tested in recreational competitions, where they can gain valuable experience and showcase their skills. Off-ice training aims to develop the technical skills required in figure skating. Here, athletes perform exercises that help the correct execution of jumps, spins, and other elements, while strengthening endurance, coordination, and body awareness. Ballet classes at this level already provide a higher level of training. Children develop elegance of movement, expressiveness, proper posture, and the basics of artistic performance, which are important parts of figure skating. The goal of the recreation group is for athletes to develop with joy, move with increasing confidence on the ice, and successfully represent our club in recreational competitions.
